Ms. Mary Poor’s Famous Fudge

If you want easy-to-make, melt-in-your-mouth fudge, this is the recipe for you.

Ms. Mary Poor’s Famous Fudge

2 sticks margarine

5 cups sugar

1 large Pet condensed milk

12 oz milk chocolate chips

12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 tsp vanilla

9X13 pan

Pre-measure all ingredients having them ready to add:

Melt margarine and sugar on medium-high heat constantly stirring the bottom with a spatula so as not to scorch. When the mix liquifies, add in milk. Bring to boil (still stirring bottom with a spatula) and let bubbles reach towards the top of the pot, then turn the heat down to medium-low (stirring can slow down at this point) for precisely 6 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips and vanilla. Pour in pan and let cool. Cut into squares. Makes 5lbs of deliciousness!

Tips: Only get Pet condensed milk. Ms. Poor says this is very important as the other canned milks do not set the same. Do not go over the 6 minutes. Considering the sauce bubbling high is part of the process, your pot should be at least 5 inches deep so it will not boil over.
